By using the rules that lie behind animal swarms a simulation of steering behaviors for autonomous agents is executed through processing.
This particular simulation is a representation of a type of growing architecture, where autonomous skizoïd machines use their trajectories as paths for secretion. Their trajectories materialize and bio-mimic a structure organic in appearance.
Please feel free to view a set of still images extracted from the processing sketch:
Using a particle to motion MEL script I begun testing on the notion of a growing structure that appears to be constructing itself. Using particles to animate a swarm a script is introduced to leave a curve to represent their trajectories. These curves become paths for secretion-Autonomous machines create growth of a type of architecture.
Using Maya MEL scripting I have managed to swarm 50 autonomous agents. Their trajectories are animated to show a possible path for secretion. These links shows animation stills and the entire animation in different views:

Using MEL scripts (Maya Embedded language) I have managed to produce my first maya animation.
The short animation describes a simple tube like structure as a result of uniting flight vectors-the trajectory of each agent as history paths. Fifty (50) agents in total swarm to produce a secretion path for skizoïd machines. If we analyse the combination of all the autonomous agent’s flight paths as one entity it exerts a complexity that can be understood through theoretical principles of chaos theory and emergence.
I envisage taking this animation further by scripting a flight pattern for a particular swarm to follow. Path vectors will then be made to form a complex geometry.
